Hardtop finally! Any tips for getting it sprayed? (Few photos)
Hi all! Sorry for lack of activity lately, been mega busy!
Anyway finally got around to getting a hardtop, just in time for summer lol! Plan on keeping it black for a few more weeks until the spring/summer weather warms up and then get it sprayed alpine white ready for next winter!!
Anybody had theirs sprayed before? Any tips?
I assume the lining just unclips once all fixings are undone? Would the glass or rubbers etc need removing?
Any advice welcome
Oh and obligatory photos

I'm for leaving it black as it looks real good. Although in white it would look pretty special

+1 for leaving it black and I'm normally against black hard tops. Just seems to work really well with the white.

Posted some pics a while back. Internal lining easy enough to get off once you unclip/unscrew everything. Then spoiler will also lift off if you're intending to get it sprayed.JINGLE wrote:I assume the lining just unclips once all fixings are undone? Would the glass or rubbers etc need removing?

IMO while you've got it all off add some sound deadening (2mm or so) this helps keep that additional drone out when you're on the motorway. Also with the lining removed you could add a rear tint? Something I've lined up myself, just haven't got round to taking it off again to install it!
Link from my removal.

Leave it as it is Jamie, it mimics the soft top & really suits your car

It looks pretty good in black but it won't be fooling anyone that its off another car and just not been sprayed yet.
