Number of Z4 cars left in the UK!?

Evening all,

For those of you who watch The Grand Tour, they were mentioning a site that shows the number of cars left on UK roads.

I have a 2007 3.0 SI roadster... apparently there are only 62 left on British roads!?!? Have I done something wrong here or is this correct?

Either way, that seems like an extremely low number. Especially given the number of M versions around.

I think they sold thousands of si roadsters, I don't believe theirs only 60 odd left

theres 13 3.0si roadsters 06-08 plate on trader alone. Clearly these stats are way out. I know that most zeds were the 2.0 but the 3.0si isn't that rare!

It's all based on DVLA supplied data. DVLA data is based on the 'Model' on the V5C.
My Z4C is a 'Z4 SI Sport Auto' on the V5C, so won't even show up to anyone checking how many coupes there are.

I don't know but i guess it comes down to how carefully the BMW dealer registered the car. Mine is a Z4 SI Sport Auto as Model, and coupe as Body Type. What has everyone else got ?

3.0si cabrio, none registered in 2006, when I know mine was. So they aren't accurate.

The thing that I struggle to get over (and I think I might have mentioned this before on this Forum) is (and this is slightly ///M centric but bear with me):
- assume 63.2+++ million people in UK (2011 census)
- 580 odd - say 600 for argument's sake - M roadsters and - again for the sake of argument - same number of M Coupes
- meaning that 1 in every (roughly) 110,000 people own an MRoadster or MCoupe; 1 in 55,000 if you lump both together
- if you start whittling the numbers down - crashed cars etc, racetrack only cars, use the "950 left" number from above and assume equal numbers of MR/MC and factor in people who did not, for one reason or another, take part in the most recent census (assume maybe 70 million bods?) and you've probably got a ratio of 1 MR or MC per 150,000 people!
And then consider some of the bigger forums meets like England/Wales and Zedfest.... we must have seen half of them!!
Do love a good bit of stats...
