They do. :D

Wow, is that rust as a result of a poor previous repair or has it been parked in the sea? :( :o

The metal is straight and still has the original stickers so I assume it's just been poor rust protection and weather getting in through the small gaps in between the metal and arch liner , the front wings have small areas that are showing signs of the same so I'm blasting them all and then a healthy covering of underbody sealant.

Can only hope this sorts it out before the metal gets any worse coz it's a fantastic car and I love having it.

Lovely shine on your car

Have you thought about spraying the rear lights to make 'quad spots'?

I did mine and think they look a lot better than when they were clear. Here's a pic:

Fitted the ZHP gear knob that came in the post from Cotswold BMW this morning (thanks for the link Lewis B  ).

Popped down to TWG and booked it in for a service, Inspection I and gearbox oil change. :)

Then headed off on a 75 mile round trip. :driving:

After a couple of miles I got used to the lower height of the ZHP and now it just seems so right! Can't believe it wasn't a standard fitment (it was on my daily E46 325ti Sport Compact)!

Anyway I hadn't driven the Z for a couple of weeks, then when I got home I realised how much I love driving the Z - maybe I should have a less entertaining daily?
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

mr wilks wrote: Sat Jun 03, 2017 7:25 pm @ Kap'nZ4 , wheel choice being like a holiday destination what works for some doesn't work for all but you need to look at adding some spacers to get a better stance as right now they look tiny in the arches  what wheel widths / offsets are they :?
Image
8.5x18 front and 9.5x18 back both a +40et. There was an offset of +35 and wish I had gone ahead and got those instead. The 203's I had on it were +47et, so they do stick out a little farther than what as on it.
Looking to add 20mm spacers front and 30mm in the back.

Per the hot wheels comment, that's what chrome does for you. Personally I don't care if any one likes them or not. I do and proud to sport around in my baby.
In my area a Z4 is plenty rare, and always getting asked about it. The bling rims defo draw more attention, but that's the fun part about it.
Meeting new people, let alone people that drive other BMW's around my area almost always flash headlights when we cross paths on the road way.

My Z4 is similar to many others out there in the world, but I strive to make it stand apart in subtle ways.

Next scheduled difference will be taking my tinted windows that are currently 50% to 25%(July) and there's the 12 year old windshield cowl that's splitting and ugly that needs replaced (on order) and either chrome or black out the grills. Still undecided there.

Everything right now is about the cosmetics of the car, since I have taken care of all the mechanical's under the hood and under the car.

The wife, in the beginning kept looking at me like I was a fool, called it a piece of junk. Now she wants to go on trips in it.
Even agrees that the next trip will require it to be hauled to California and drive it up and down the cost line on road 101 I believe its called. .....

In the mean time I have wants of redoing the interior to a slate gray to near black with lavender stitching. Tucked or rolled is still undecided, Piano black on the dash trim and bits, but that's still a couple years down the road.

In the meantime, It is getting miles put on her, her garage queen days are done for now. Well, unless it rains.... and till winter sets in. :driving:
Image
God saw me fit enough to drive it. It's my responsibility to drive it the way its meant to be drove. (All Roads Open.) Mods and fixes are mounting and I don't care, as it will be drove come hell or high water. :D
