Put those 12's on the front and get some 20's on the rears. You wont be sorryPaulr wrote:Putting that stuff in the door suddenly makes the car feel much more expensive, no CLANG when shutting them!
I put 12mm spacers on the rear today, much better stance. Not sure the front needs them (the back wheels really seem to sit deep in the arches) but will decide once I have had a chance to experience the back ones more.

Took the hard top of Bruiser as I had planned to do a thorough topdown detail in preparation for the nice weather....
But decided to strip and clean the bike instead. I think my priorities are all messed up. What's wrong with me??

I was going to carbon wrap them but could not get them to look right unlike the many members on this site who have far superior skills than me. So I have gone the Hydro dipping route, I just dropped off the parts today and will be collecting them next Thursday, they are being dipped in carbon fibre effect and finished with three coats of aircraft grade lacquer to give a high gloss finish,
Pics will be uploaded when I have reassembled. A big thank you to all forum members who have submitted threads on the removal of the centre console, dash etc. I was also able to remove the centre console without removing the gear knob and gaiter
Happened when I removed my hardtop lining... although maybe to a lesser extent!
I was thinking about the hydro route for a few bits too. What company did you use? I've not seen many threads on hydro use specific to the Z4 Forum.

New instrument cluser from BMW, seems mine could not be fixed. And a gearbox oil change because the BMW main dealer did not do it as part of inspection II as they said it was lifetime gearbox oil. (previous owner)
Seem like next week I need a new windscreen after a large crack appeared in mine.

What have you done to your car today?
Today I removed the driver's door card and replaced the mirror and window control switches. They are a single assembly and push out easily from the inside of the door card. Now I have 4-way movement of the mirrors and they fold up for parking.
It was obvious the door card had been off before, there was no membrane to remove. Lots of missing plastic clips that will have to be replaced, but I will have to order them. The airbag was missing a screw but I found one that would fit. Then I lined the inside of the outer door skin with 6mm closed structure foam from Silentcoat. Put it all back together and the door closes with a clunk not a clang.
