I felt mine booming through the leather seat on the drive home today. Yours plugged in?

Hey all,

Brand new 2004 Z4 3.0.i owner and I want to say thanks for all of the awesome information in this thread! One of my first orders of business will be to rip out the head unit for an Alpine UTE-62BT. Need to figure out which amp to supplement it with, then hand it over to an audio shop for install. This is a fantastic resource thread, so thanks!

Hi I not the speaker wire diagram on page 3 massive thankyou will be a big help, so it looks like I can identify what wires go to what in the car at the amplifier plug, but what about the 8 speaker wires from the stereo to the plug?

Could anyone confirm:

What speakers do not have crossovers built in (i.e. a separate crossover is required when replacing the amp).

From this thread I think - tweeters and fronts (is that mid in door, or mid in footwell?)

Also, what the impedances for each speaker is - or at least if any wiring changes were required to make this better for the amplifier. I.E. the in-seat subs were wired in series to drop the impedance - anything else?

My bad, meant parallel.
