New Group Buy - BB ByPass System 3.2M 3.0Etc - NEW VIDS PG 8

Post by Paza3 » Wed Mar 21, 2012 3:32 pm

Hi Guys

After Pixelloft kindly offer his experience on his new mod I have been in touch to get a set up for the Si and was discussing the merits of a group buy with warren engineering so just gauging peoples interest at this stage.

Was looking at getting a group buy together if the results are good. UK + International. Vid by 31st of March Before and After , am running a Stock system

This is just to get some names on a list on who would be interested at this stage subject to positive results , but am all for helping professional friendly business so hence this thread in advance strike while the Iron is hot and all that!

I will of course only have clips avaiable for a 3.0 si , so other cars many vary in results but I think mine will give you an indication of what to expect

So simply a list for

3.2 M - Name (Have Dimensions)

3.0si - Name (Have Dimensions)

3.0se - Name (Someone will need to do a picture like I did, as no drawings yet. As Below)

2.5i / Si - Name (Someone will need to do a picture like I did, as no drawings yet. As Below)

2.0 Name (Someone will need to do a picture like I did, as no drawings yet. As Below)

This is what I did for the Si system and worked a treat

Image

Current Cost for UK so delivered and Vat included is £38.40 for the Si and M so price maybe lower for lower CC cars unsure.

As the SI and M and "guess" the SE needs 2 pipes lower CC may only need 1

Its £10.00 per pipe currently and £12 courier anywhere I think in the UK

Need to get some numbers first to see what price they can do , maybe 10% not sure cannot be a great margin.

You will need a friendly Exhaust Garage to fit maybe 1 hours work so not a great deal.

So mod should be well under a £100 quid another "Budget mod" while maintianing an OEM apperance :)

So you know the drill by name get your name down and car and lets see what we can do :D

Cheers Paza

Hopefully by the end of tomorrow I'll have these fitted to my M. The pipes have arrived at the Custom Exhaust place and the car is booked in tomorrow. He is a quick video of the car before hand. At the weekend I'll look to get the same done once the mods have been carried out. I'll be honest, the comparison isn't going to be that great as I have an exhaust blow at the moment and the afterwards video will include the Sports Cats I'm having fitted. But it will give you an idea I suppose

Gives you a more aggressive noise but retains the OEM look and doesn't cost the earth  Easily reversible if you don't like it also

As Marks says really

See the original Thread, there is a massive improvement on the stock systems, more rasps, pop's and bangs on overdrive. Basically a performance exhaust acoustics on your standard OEM system arguable the best solution of all , as currently we spend hundreds of pounds to produce fundamentally more of a performance sound/noise on a "branded" exhaust manafactor for really one reason more noise  but the biggest worry for most is the dreaded "drone" in this soloution this is not an issue at all

This is what is soooo exciting for me , and cannot wait to present the results as it could be a prefect soloution for many other members and it costs under a £100 quid, its a winner.

Could anyone please explain to a thicko how this works? Is half of the back box or the whole thing being bypassed? Sorry to be dim!

Hi Bradders,

My Understanding is as follows

Basically a percentage of the sound is bypassing the backbox which is a silencer in essence, so the theory is to transfer a % of the "noise" to the tail pipes section therefore creating more of a performance sound...

So yeah the two 3/4 inch pipes bypassed the whole back box but remember this is only around 15-20% of the total ,otherwise it would sound a bit to much :)

Thanks mate, that makes more sense. I couldn't understand how people were claiming reasonable sound levels if most of the box was being shunted!
