Hi guys and gals

I'm new here so please be gentle....

Just bought a 2004 black 2.5 litre softtop Z4 with black leather. Been wanting to for years and only just done so! V happy with it but I would like to upgrade the lights so that they're clear and not orange (the front headlights and the indicator lights on the side).

How do I go about doing this?
Is it expensive?
Are the clear lights xenon lights or simply clear rather than orange lights?

Thank you

:D

HI and welcome to the forum

do a quick search as there are hundreds of posts about the lights.

there are some clear xenon and some halogen lights,if you don't have xenons now,to change to them will costs 1000's of pounds.

All orange folks have looked at this
My conclusion: Accept the orange or tint them with film. Anything else is expensive or time consuming.

completely true, but the amber lights have grown on me now,so even if I had the choice wouldn't change now :D

Thanks for your speedy replies!

What film is needed and does it look good enough, if you know what i mean?

Not sure if I have xenons or halogens an certainly dont fancy spending thousands!

Wow those rear lights look quality. When you say "tint" you mean with film? If so where can I get it? Halfords? (I know V little about cars!). It must be hard to tint the front and side lights with clear film given the orange is darker underneath?

Thanks for your help mate

I am having my front headlights tinted very soon, well when the guy actually calls me :D Perfectly legal and should look good, if not clear headlights will be on :D

3 x Red tint film samples bought off ebay at £1 each
Chris did the pioneering piece on this, but can't find original thread
Bit fiddly but worth it.

The stuff you used, does it sine through amber or red then?

As may have a go with lamin-x just to see if it does shine amber, as it is supposed to. But the stuff i used second time shines red, but looks better. As the halfords repair tape looks a tad orangy :P
