Just went outside for my afternoon cigarette to find one of the company execs using my car bonnet as a bench :o
Remembering I was at work I chose my language carefully.

"Oi, WTF do you think your doin?" met with a snotty down the nose look and "who the hell do you think your talking too.

I reminded him that the last time i checked i was not cross eyed and i am looking at you, also reminded him I did not buy a car and polish it so he had somewhere to park his overpaid lazy ass.

I have an appointment with HR tomorrow as a result. which I am very much looking forward to.

:wkr: :wkr:

I think I managed that quite well, Had it been out of work I would have considered other options.

 BTW what do you do? if you don't mind me asking

Seeking work by the sounds of it.

Truly does annoy me when others disrespect property.

I'm constantly amazed that whnever anyone parks and exotic car people lean, squat against and part lay on them for photos with no regard for potential damage

I work for a multi national media and entertainment company, won't name them but if you are outside when you look up at the big blue stuff, thats who I work for, for the time being, if i still have a job tomorrow I will be facing redundancy in a month anyway.

Taz, I am choosing to ignore you. I'm having a bad enough day already

Take your Union rep with you - that normally frightens these HR types....

Nice one, i wouldnt hold back if someone was disrespecting my car. they would probably end up being thrown over it.

hopefully you get an HR rep with the same feeling towards cars as you, what a perfect world that would be.

you could just say that they have scuffed it and you will report them/claim the damages :P if you were feeling like being arsey

I'm Not worried about it, His mate / colleague who was with him did say to him I would move if I were you it's not your car.
Also there is the statutory sign in the car park of "left at own risk" if it is left at my own risk then I have a right to defend my car as the company won't, also he was out for a cigarette as well so technically he was not at work. My Boss has told me that whilst I should not have used bad language i was quite right to have a go at him. Everyone in my dept knows how anal I can be about my car. My boss has already called HR and told them his thoughts and he will also be attending the meeting

As said I am looking forward to it.

yesterday i took my mum down the road to fetch her snotter from the local garage which had done mot etc,

the owner tony then proceeds to lean against the rear arch of my zed, i told him very quickly to get the f**k off it.

you did the right thing...

Just take a deep breath before you go in and take a note pad and pen. As the HR 'nonsense' starts to talk pretend to take notes - that normally frightens the hell out of them. I am not against formal processes done in the spirit of fairness BUT as with all things like this in the UK we have gone so over the top in resolving what in essence is a trivial matter. (Nosa, not the issue of potential damage to you Zed but the way in which these things can quickly escalate out of all proportion). Alternatively go of sick with stress caused by the incident (just see one of our 'overseas' doctors who will sign you off for months......) seems to work for many millions in the UK, and then sue the company for constructive dismissal based on the steess they have caused you in the way they have dealt with you.... with the money you get buy a new Zed!

Easy as that :P

Funny you should mention going off with stress, This has crossed my mind recently. As i said earlier my team and I know were are going to be made redundant, However we have not been "officialy told" and our impending redundancy is not based on rumour but on facts that have been overheard on the phone. However this has been going on for about a month now and everyone is getting tetchy and bad moods all round, I did consider going off with Stress and pointing out to the company that there "well kept secrets" are not so well kept, We know its coming in less than a month now, they are just waiting until a few projects we are working on are complete. It's not the redundancy thats bad here its the way they are going about it. they seem to forget that it is peoples livlyhoods they are dealing with. I just think it is disgusting the way they treat people.
I know companys work for a profit and not for its workers but FFS if your going to make people redundant then dont have "secret" phone calls in front of the people you are going to be getting rid of. Fkin idiots.
So the thought of going off with stress as a result has crossed my mind just to stick to them.
Fortunatly or Unfortunatly though I was not brought up with that kind of Ethic

when your parent brought you up, their employers were probably better people to work for, you had a job for life, ethics have changed, maybe you should change yours

my parents probably brought me up same as yours, i have lost count how many times i have been made redundant, consequently i no longer have now ethics requarding employers
