'm' Seats.

Post by Maddo6659 » Sat Dec 02, 2017 8:53 pm

A horrid squeak has developed over the 3 weeks of regular driving down some bumpy roads. After removing the culprit I noticed that my foam base was torn and sagging down and was a culprit. This and the side bolster were broken making my seat look like it had dandruff. Has anyone else had this problem, know a fix? Or maybe the previous caretaker (had it 9 months) was particularly rotund and a bit of a clumsy oaf? Where to go from here? Anyone know of a refurb. option or is it easier/simpler to just replace? Any help/advice would be appreciated.

It seems to have stopped for now, but is obviously not a permanent as the damage is done. Retrofit a wire support?

I had the same problem - though not as bad - on my last Z. My plan was just to buy some spare foam inserts and keep them sealed somewhere given that at some point supply would run out. I’ve never gotten round to it - IIRC they are quite pricey items.

I know flimper has the same issue. Looks like to foam is degrading.

Yep mine is doing the same, I don’t rate the M seats at all, no side support unless you’re a big chap and they seem to disintegrate.

i will be very annoyed if thats happens to mine :x :x :x :x

im pretty tall, and quite muscly ( so rather heavy) , so fill the seats well... These seats LOOK great but in reality they aren't brilliant, i find their is very little lateral support, BUT.... because the z4 is so tiny i understand why they didn't use heavily bolstered seats, they'd get ruined pretty quickly on entry.
