E85 one touch roof

Apologies for a newbie question :? I’ve seen some cars advertised as being able to drop the roof off the key and one touch. How is it done, I’ve tried numerous key presses and nothing happens

Hi, one touch roof operation is enabled by fitting a roof module like gaptec, gives one touch operation from the dash buttons as well

You should be able to drop the roof from outside with one touch without fitting a 'roof module' - simply press the unlock button and keep it held down, the roof should drop.

That's what I was told, but it didn't work on my Zed Colin. I had to fit Gap-tec

I fitted the smart top module. Tried all different combinations on the key, nothing.

Tried the press and hold technique but to no avail. Is the gap tech an easy fit?

Yep, it’s ashtray out & 4 or 5 wires to connect. Ps, get some proper terminal strip instead of using the troublesome scotchlocks provided

The car can also be programmed to allow you to raise and lower the roof by holding the lock/unlock buttons. Not as flashy as the Gap-Tech, but about a quarter of the cost. Other things can also be programmed at the same time, such as auto locking when you drive off, indicator flashes and/or audible chirps when locking/unlocking, passenger window one touch up (usually not enabled) and a few other options.
