Is this the right Rocker cover gasket?
Morning all.
Can anyone confirm if this is the right one for a 2.5i?

Looks the same FAI one I fitted to mine back in April. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 2612707171
Don't forget some RTV sealant for the corners of the 'half moon' sections. I used this Sterling Grey '03 2.5i SE / Infinitas Supercharger / S.M.G / Hardtop / Gloss Black 162s / Bilstein B4s / 3.0i Brakes / DLV De-Cat & Silencer / Rebuilt VANOS / Sonar 2Xcite Lights / Carbon & Alcantara Trim / M-Sport Seats / ...& Side Covers !

See here is an interesting point. Black or red silicone? Any difference. I've always gone for red in the past and it's held up on cat to centre pipe joins in the past. Never had to take the stuff off though afterwards.
Any real difference in the two? Some of the YT videos of beemer lumps seem to use either afterwards.
Thanks for the help though. Gasket just bought.

I did mine last week, viewtopic.php?f=2&t=93757&p=1476014#p1476014 (I bought the gasket kit from BMW)
I used red gasket maker that was recommended by the chap euro car parts. To be honest I doubt it will make much difference, just make sure what you use is suitable for high temp applications and valve covers.
This is what I used https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car- ... &0&cc5_139 It did the job just fine.

Black every time, nothing smacks of amateur like red sealant oozing from a black gasket!

What if I put red stickers and paint the engine cover red? will be proper bad manz then? Could pass it off as a red insert?Ducklakeview wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2017 5:45 pm Black every time, nothing smacks of amateur like red sealant oozing from a black gasket!
