Re: Replacement rear brake hoses / lines?
Good news.
That is the way to go then.
I started looking at making my own lines up. Parts and Hose are available on ebay but rather have them made up by a Pro set up.
What colour are you going for?

Yes, Ian...I did this on my Black 05 3.0i, and got them in a nice blue finish, though not something you really saw, lol.
I think you can get them in just about any colour...reds/blues/greens, bright silvers, etc. etc.

Re: Replacement rear brake hoses / lines?
Well I just had my MOT and it failed on rear brake pipe corrosion. So it just looks like the ends of pipes 1 and 2 as they get towards the end of the plastic cover, and possibly parts of 4 running over the tank.
http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E85/R ... pipe_rear/
BMW Cooper parts site says part 4 is £20 or so, so seems to make sense to just make joins up the front end in the engine bay and run new copper pipe all the way back to the start of the flexi and part 4 as they are straight runs down the car... and then replace part 4 from BMW (as it'll be shaped nicely to go over the tank)?
Anyone else had to do this?
I'd be tempted to get new BMW pipes from front to back but knowing my luck the connections to the DSC block would fail and I'd be left needing to do serious work to fix them hehe
Cheers
Dave

Re: Replacement rear brake hoses / lines?
Hoping to upgrade to braided HEL hoses soon. After reading this thread, and a few linked within it, it looks like there are 2 hoses on each rear side to replace, as well as 1 each side on the fronts, so 6 in total. Does anyone has the dimensions for the rears, using standard calipers and discs?

Re: Replacement rear brake hoses / lines?
Check out GaryBlokes link on removing the centre connection and replacing with one flex. I have carried out the same mod. The centre section was in a terrible state on mine 2003 and would have need replaced if I had gone for the 2 flex set up. I m on holiday at present but I think garybloke has some dimensions for the single rear flexible in his post.wilbo wrote:Hoping to upgrade to braided HEL hoses soon. Re: Replacement rear brake hoses / lines?
If anyone is interested I have a brand new set of Goodrich braided hoses I no longer need. They are for the M and the standard "short" rears, but I imagine they'll fit.
