Think it might be one of the covers you remove to fit the hardtop.

Car is falling apart, first the DSC failing, now the body parts falling off :)

It's not one of the 2 rubber caps I removed at the rear before fitting the hard top... They were definitely rubber and this is finest BMW plastic.

I beleive if fitting the hard top, you remove the rubber ones and fit the platic ones shown.

Its not an essential, but fits on the side points where the roof hinges are, just behind the door jams. (Above the drain holes)

We used to have that worktop!!!

Enlighten me a bit more on how and where it's fitted and what it does. I've never even seen such a bit and not having any with my hardtop am feeling somewhat lacking :(
