I have no plans to sell my Z4 just yet... but I was thinking about what to do with the Android install (http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic ... 29&t=56746) if I do sell it in the future. I don't really fancy providing a life-time of tech support to the new owner.
I can't really fit a standard navigation system, as that is cost prohibitive to retrofit just to sell the car, so I was wondering if this might fit in the gap left were I to remove the screen?

It's for an X3, but the X3 navigation screen is awfully close in size / shape to the Z4's... so I thought this might be close enough. Anyone tried installing it for extra storage?
All the best,
Dan

It will fit but look a bit wrong. One or two have fitted x3 screens, they just look a little out of place.

I think I will order one and see what it looks like, then chuck it in a cupboard somewhere for the next few years!

Just in case anyone else comes across this thread in the future and wonders whether or not this will fit in the gap left by a Z4 nav screen... the answer is "no".
I purchased one a while ago and put it to one side so that I could swap it out for my custom android nav-screen when it came time to sell. The Z4 is now gone, but the Android housed in the nav screen had to stay, as this doesn't fit in the aperture. It is not even close.

I'm thinking about removing the front face place, and using that as a storage box. One very high tech storage box that has a lid that flips up with the touch of a button
