Forgive my ignorance but is this the E89 replacement...?

Or is it just another version of the current i8 and something else is planned for the E89?

That has got to be the most s**t sneak peak video I've ever seen. Not even a shot with the roof down, which is the whole point of the car
Current... Silver Grey ///M Roadster, non-flimper spec, Imola Red nappa, permanent ear-to-ear grin 8)

Previous... 3.0Si Sport Roadster, Black Sapphire, Dream Red leather with lots of toys and lots of mods...

Have we been looking at the same thing? I've just taken a look at 15 stills of an orange car with the roof down - in fact they're all with the roof down - 'orrible speckly grille though.

Think they're making a mistake still calling it the Z4. We all love 'em but it wasn't a car that set a blistering pace for sales.........

The video you posted originally, which refers to the i8 roadster, is rubbish.

The link provided by Marlon takes you to a thread about the new Z4 concept, which is not rubbish.

I understand now, yes the i8 roadster video is unlikely to get anyone excited.

Marlon's link is quite useful though.
