Try it with the traction off, even in sport+ it's holding back the power, you can really tell the difference with it off, 2nd gear becomes bonkers

Just be careful in the wet with it off, it'll spin the wheels in 4th

That's an appalling level of traction for 325 odd hp/torque if it spins in 4th.

I haven't experienced anything like that but the slug of torque that comes in at maybe 3K revs is very diesel like - as in loads - and it certainly feels more powerful than my Z4 35iS albeit a lot more like steering a sofa without adaptive suspension

Overall at only 1400 miles it does feel a fair bit quicker than my Z4 which surprises me as the figures suggest it is quicker but only just. I think it is the way the torque comes in that makes it feel like it does.

SO8 wrote: Tue Jul 25, 2017 9:05 pm Right, run in now ... and at 1300 miles it feels quicker than my A45 ... and my 35iS !!! I am sure this is down to 4wd and the fact the 35iS is a year ago but omg I was surprised at the surge forwards when I unleashed it ! It cuts the power in 1st about half way through the rev range due to wheelspin - I used sport plus and it spins at the point the t/c cuts in but with it in sport plus just gives a chirp and keeps going ... awesome :D Less impressive is the softness. It is no Z4 let alone an A45 AMG, but I guess it is a different beast. Lovely noise too - deeper than the Z4 35iS but maybe lower volume than I want :D

Time to upgrade to some better shocks?? KWs or Bilstein maybe
And turn tc off its a total kill joy

This is in sports plus which is ment to allow a bit if slip. My 135 is running close to 400 bhp and traction is quite amusing especially in wet or damp conditions, will still flash up in 4th doing 70mph.
It really need a LSD as it goes through rear brakes pads quicker the the fronts as the TC brakes the rear spinning wheel.

M240i Convertible

Anyone any idea if the M240i MPE is going to sound the same as the exhaust I had on the Z4 35iS ??

The standard exhaust on the M240i convertible is nice but I had the BMW sports exhaust as standard on the 35iS ... any views appreciated.

They only run 245 MPSS on the rear with 500 torques, will be going for some 265's next :driving:
