Saw one today - pretty awful rear view, tbh. Not a fan.

One I saw:

For sure a very fugly rear end.

I couldn't believe how much they are. The 2.0L with a few options is nudging £50k and I cannot believe that a 2.0L is going to pull all of that metal.

We opted for a Disco 4 on a 15 plate to replace the Disco 3 on a 58 plate. The newer 3.0L engine is so much better than the old 2.7L. Much more powerful, quieter and less emissions and therefore lower road tax - "only" £295 compared with, I think, £515 for the older one.

I am very happy that we now, within the confines of not having won the lottery, have the best 2 car combination! :)

Very unpleasant  offset styling done before with previous model which at least had a window that followed the obscure lines

I've also seen a few - they are HUGE.

I simply don't understand why anyone needs to have a car so big.

We are getting ready to go away for 9 nights, staying mostly in a cottage we're renting in Northumberland. We're taking the large dog (German Shepherd), so that's the entire luggage area accounted for. It also accounts for the portable fridge we'll be taking to keep the dog's food frozen on the journey.

We're also taking Mrs R, which implies a couple of outfits (at least) per day; at least one huge suitcase for that and another for shoes. I'll be taking a few T shirts, jeans, fleece tops and walking boots. Most of my suitcase is designated for Mrs R's overspill! So that's the entire rear passenger space accounted for.

And finally there's the 2 bikes that will be on the carrier on the tow bar.

Suddenly Discoverys don't feel so big! :o

The older v4 doesnt seem so big (on the outside anyhow), I've just read a comparison and the newer one is actually smaller on the inside :?

Make's for a very expensive holiday if you buy a car simply to go away in ;) :P

Ungainly and unbalanced. That is my opinion anyway.

Just leave Mrs R at home and have a good time away with just you and your dog. Problem solved
