Found another of my old cars in the photo collection, I must have been a bit down on my luck to have a car this old but I was a youngster I suppose.
It's a mini 1100 with a twin choke, downdraft carb & disc brakes (all fitted by me)

Never liked Mini's. We all had one back then though. I had a Countryman, but it was bouncy, a pain to work on, and noisy. Handled well though, and was warmer & safer than a motorbike!
If you try and take a cat apart the first thing you have is a non working cat.

Yeah, my previous mini with a 1293 Cooper engine & twin su's was cracking fun.
Right up until I span it off the road at 80mph, went off the road like a Catherine wheel spinning in between 2 oncoming cars & hitting a tree backwards with enough force to tear both seats from their mountings.
I had a newish gf in with me at the time & it went a bit sour after that

I had a 1972 998 in teal blue. Had the same carb fitted as yours a two choke nikki . You can see the glass plate on the front. Mine had wood and pickett arches, Weller wheels and a front air dam which ended up scraping the speed bumps. Only had a dynamo and I remember the control box a Lucas RB340 went on fire one day. I think you also had an Osseli rocker cover. Happy days. Ended up with a new owner who had it stolen from him and stripped of all the custom parts.

Yeah, when you had to drive cars and men were men. I think the seat ripping from the floor was an ancient safety feature :)
