Haven't stopped smiling for last few weeks . Got my trusted team to do the whole Gtechniq shebang on the car. They did a cracking job and come with my very highest recommendation.
Here are the finished pics (shoot me for showing off, sorry)
My only regret is that I didn't get the Porsche Connect Plus option. Apparently cannot be added after the car has been assembled.....
Oh well will just have to enjoy the drive instead. Cornering stability is off the scale.
Cheers JC aka Arif

I totally agree. This guy stores classics for some rather famous folk. Some of those Mercs have not been driven in over 15 years. He just keeps them clean and rather well polished. There were two Daytonas and an old Lambo there as well as many other classics including a 356 Porsche. The place was a thrilling mini museum.pvr wrote:Nice indeed, but those Mercs in that garage - now those I want

Very nice Arif.
Have you found the scrubbing on the front tyres on full lock, the one thing that I don't like about mine?!

You sure it is scrubbing? With the size of the wheels, you get the "acorn" effect with it rolling sideways over the tyres.lux wrote:Very nice Arif.

When mine is on full lock forwards or reverse at low speed, the tyres seem to scrub or slide (whatever you want to call it) as there's less of the tyre in contact with the road surface due to the camber i thought!? I have asked the dealer about it and also read on another forum that it's normal with all Porsches?

It is normal with all supercars. When on full lock, you are driving the wheels over the side which gives the feeling like you are driving over a lot of acorns on the floor. It is not actually rubbing in the wheel arches, it is just that it feels odd.
I googled it at the time when I got my 911 and there are a lot of hits on any supercar forum about it.

So is it due to the camber?
If you get out and look at the angle of the wheel it's quite strange and there only seems to be about a third of the tyre surface in real contact with the road.
When I said 'scrubbing' I ment the tyre on the road not rubbing on the arches.
Sorry Arif, I seem to have hijacked your thread.

Re the feeling on full lock, the Ackerman effect, it's very discerning and not good but normal apparently
