It's not actually a performance upgrade at all unless you tune it. I've got the full road test data from Autocar on both the TTRS and rhe Z4MC. There's a small advantage 0-60 in the TT due to the 4WD getting power down cleaner off the line but by 130mph the Z4MC is slightly quicker. In-gear acceleration times are pretty similar - the Z4 is slightly quicker in some and the TT slightly quicker in others. If you tune it then it is a different ball game obviously. But standard v standard there's nothing in it.

All well and good.....

But I currently own a 3.0si :P

I'll be remapping in a year or so for 400bhp+ along with R8 calipers etc :driving:

Can't wait to hear that 5 pot noise :driving:

I think your a lucky boy and you will love it

We have a 2.0tdi auto TT!!!!! Not for much longer a TT and a z4 dose not work with having a kid and a dog!!
But even my oil burner with an auto is a great fun car to drive. Yes its a bit numb through the steering. But I haven't driven a modern car that isn't? Its not a flat out involving car. Its more a gt car and if you think of it like that. Its bloody brilliant even with a TDI in it!!
My little blue zed is in lots of bits. With lots of things started and not many finished! I may have found the limits of my time and ability!!

Nice choice, my other car is a white TTRS with s tronic (which the missus drives) and it's a really competent car, very fast on the road, loads of grip and extremely well built. It's just a little lifeless compared to the MC and you don't actually hear too much of the noise when driving, it's certainly nowhere near the M with the Gruppe M.

Brilliant daily driver though.

Suprised at the interest this is generating, seems a very marmite car :)

Agree with the steering feel and input comments, it's not a true drivers car in any sense of the imagination. More of a brute akin to modern hot hatches ala Focus RS / Golf R / RS3 etc i'd say.

For someone like me where it'll be my daily driver doing 90% commuting and 10% leisure i'd say it's a good choice.

Genuinely cannot wait to take ownership :)

Cheers matey

Interested to hear you own both a TTRS and Z4M - very envious! As above, unfortunately it's my only car so as a point to point warrior for a crap driver like me using it mainly for commuting with the odd road trip / b road blast it should fit the bill nicely :)

You still have a Z4M though, stunning cars :driving:

In short, it's a better car for 90% of the time....the other 10% when you want to 'drive' the car the MC rewards the spirited driver.

Also, the running costs are cheaper, i.e tax and servicing...does drink more oil though.

The engine bay isn't as impressive asthetically as the Z4 was. MPG isn't either :o .

It's just short of 28,000 miles :)

That's a gorgeous colour and I actually like the engine bay on the RS, the engine bay on the TTS is as bland as they come.

Nice low miles too, enjoy it
