Just had a quick research - OMG what a difference! Is there any product you'd recommend? I've noticed one guy on youtube doing it with hardware shop-bought stuff but lots of people said it'll melt in the hot sun. Would like to get the proper stuff if I'm looking after a baby Zed of my own. Thanks

I did the same for the underside of the tray at the same time when I did my rear shocks. I also put some sticky felt on the hinges where the plastic meets. Has stopped squeaking now.

Quick update guys. I've got the lock pins I wanted, and put sound deadening in the car door, too. Even put some sound deadening on the parcel shelf but it's still a bit rattly at higher speeds. Not sure what's causing it. Anyway, here's some photos of the lock pins:

The door pins are easy to remove, they're attached to a metal rod behind the door card. It just takes a sharp tug on the pin and it pops right off. I'd recommend some extra strong glue or JB Weld when attaching new ones as they can be very loose, which isn't great if you try to unlock whilst in the car and you end up pulling out the door pin instead!

No it was incredibly easy. I did it with the door panel off because I was installing sound deadening anyway. To remove the current ones all you'd have to do is take the locking pin-side panel off (and one or two clips at the top of the door panel which can be tight) and then squeeze the black plastic cap from underneath to released the cap, and then the pin itself is just pushed on (with a slight screw).

To install the ones I had I just had to glue down the cap and then push the pins on.

Yeah, why not? They cost £15 and make it look and feel a lot more plush. That area, just above the door handle is the place you're going to be looking at all the time as you open the door, so why not make the entrance to your Zed look a bit nicer? And for how easy and cheap it is, I can't see why you wouldn't want to do it - unless one is traditionalist and wants to keep it as stock.

I don't disagree, I have matt silver door pins to match my brushed steel interior.
