I'm thinking of getting an electric machine and am looking at a Rupes LH18ENS and a MEGUIARS G220V2 - bare machines with no pads etc.
Any advice for a first time user?

Re: Which machine?
I've got a Das 6 Pro Dual Action Polisher after reading good reviews of the unit http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing ... at_81.html
Edit - Just realised you are talking about Rotary machines

Re: Which machine?
That's two different types of machine - the Rupes is a rotary and the Megs is a DADLH wrote:I'm thinking of getting an electric machine and am looking at a Rupes LH18ENS and a MEGUIARS G220V2 - bare machines with no pads etc.
If you're a first-time user, a DA machine will let you get your head around machine polishing with little risk of overdoing things. IMO, the DAS6-Pro that Swiftly mentioned is a good choice as a first machine and, if you later decide that you want to go rotary, you should be able to sell it and recoup a good part of the cost

Re: Which machine?
I've got a DAS6-Pro and had good results with it on a number of BMW's. Yes they are slower than a rotary, but machine polishing isn't a regular thing so happy to take my time.
Get some fairly firm (high cut) pads or meguirs microfibre system and away you go.

Re: Which machine?
Decided on a Flex XC 3401 which is a forced rotation DA machine with CCS Orange, White, Black & Red pads.
The gear should arrive, along with polishes, waxes etc some time next week.

Great machine ,
I have a flex rotary, missed the DA stage out as its not a scary as people make out, but you have the best of both worlds now
