Twin Turbo wrote: Sun Jul 02, 2017 9:55 pm Well new BMWShow 1/4 record has been set, last year it was won by a 35is with a time of 13.7424 - and this year was 13.62.

That quicker than any recorded Z3M, Z4M or even Alpina at the show.

And gues what - recorded the fastest time a 2 LTR, :fuelfire:

3 Wins: M3 E92 Twice & M5
1 Loss: M3 E92

Amazing result mate, well deserved I could see you had been working hard to achieve such a good time. Nice to meet some of the other coupe owners but I was mainly playing on the strip myself. Set a good benchmark of 14.2 in the 3.0si. Watch out for next year because there will be some forced induction mods  You now have competition @Twin turbo

Well, the conclusion of yesterday - that my Meth intercooler spray was not very effective -the only solution to heat soak has to be replacing the intercooler. And for day to day driving will not give any real benefit.

However, this opens the door for bigger performance gains of having Meth injection in the charge pipe.

But I will be dipping into my savings for the new Z4 fund.

However, I would love a dual with your supercharged Z 3ltr vs my little 2 ltr (with or without additional mods)

Well had a quick google and for me spending over £3k - not really great value for money for me.

I prefer to invest in better breaks as I will get more enjoyment out of that. However, I am waiting for the news on the new Z4

But doing the quarter is about getting the power down and not spinning, and that was the key why I did fairly well. And won 3 and lost 1 against V8's. But from a rolling start the result would be very different.

So I am a North Korean in the arms race - underpowered and thorn in the side of the 3ltrs big guns.

That will be an epic battle. Like TT just said it's mainly down to getting the power down. It made a huge difference giving the tyres a gentle warming before the go. What I thought was one of my slowest runs turns out to be my fastest.

I think it would be really interesting I bet we will have similar numbers and if we both got clean starts. It would probably really highlight the differences between turbo and S/C.

I have never done a 1/4 mile and to be honest it's not something I would do. But this interests me. Like you say though it's all about the start and reaction times.

True that, It's not something these cars are built for but it is fun. What turbo setup are you running? We talking big boost all the once?

Let's just say it's not conventional!!!
And as I have made it all myself and it's never been done I just don't know. The turbo I have is supposed to spool very early and be on full boost on 2.5 Nissan engines by 3.5k but mine is less than conventionally placed so who knows. As for boost levels again we won't know until it's at the dyno. The injectors I am getting will go to 400bhp the turbo will do 500. But we shall see when it's tested what I can run to on stock internals???

I might have to get my coat soon - and leave to room - as I know my 2ltr is a thorn in the side.

Answering Machine Monkey question, I have a recorded 308Bhp - however, I was suffering heat soak. So I believe it runs more - but no evidence to back it up.

However I mate of mine posted a video of me racing an M3 -so I was underpowered but had better launch control - (I have a manual Gear box)

I saw one very tired Z4MC and one mint Z4MR.....shows how rare these beasts are getting. Was a shame to leave my Z4MC in the car park!

I do fancy a 140i after seeing a few of them blitz the strip
