"I just ran the course yesterday, and once again, this trip promises to be a microcosm of everything I like about California
We're starting from the Starbucks in Marin City (190 Donahue St., Marin City, CA 94965), Departing at 11 AM, then heading up 101 to the rolling hills of north Marin County out to the coast at Bodega Bay, We will be stopping for lunch at Lucas Wharf, then on up the coast to Fort Bragg. I have chosen the Harbor Lite Lodge as a place to overnight (reservations@harborlitelodge,com 800-643-2700). ($119 harbor view/$99 view of the parking lot). Dinner will be at Heron's by the Sea and breakfast at a nearby Perko's. After that we will depart on Highway 1 south to Highway 128 and follow it through the redwoods and rolling vineyards along the Navarro River to the Napa Valley. Lunch on Sunday will be at Go Fish in Calistoga.
Please make your hotel reservsations ASAP."
I think we're still arranging the lodging since the hotel normally accept only 2 night minimum: I'll post updates as the become available.
To be at Marina City at 11, Mary and I will leave at 4AM from our place.
