My buttons were the same, I think it's either an alcohol based hand cleaner, or some sort of hand moisturiser on the previous owner's hands that has damaged the buttons. The roof buttons are always going to be susceptible to this as you have to hold your finger on them for a while.
this is one of the reasons i have that smart module fitted on mine. gaptech is it called?

i can open / close the roof by pressing and holding the button for 1 second then letting go. or by using the key remote.

Had the same problem with my buttons and it's not an uncommon problem.
I bought a fine black permanent marker and just painted in the missing bits. Although nowhere near perfect they don't bug me anymore.
Depends how OCD you are. :thumbsup:

Im very OCD and like perfection but deciddd vost to get there was going to be too high . So stuck with £5 sticker
