Finally permanently mounted the rear diffuser today. Two tubes of permitex, two pop rivits in the fender wells, and two self tapping screws in the tag area and it's done. Happy to have all the body mods on the car. Have decided to wrap the mirrors and the rear spoiler in carbon fiber to tie in the carbon look on the bottom of the diffuser and the splitter on the front bumper. Plan to adjust the exhaust mounts to better center the muffler tips tomorrow. Then get the wheels on her and pull her into the sun for a few photos. So here are the final install pictures of the rear defuser .

Finally have body mods installed, with the exception of the rear spoiler. Still have to add wire mesh and grills & splitter to front bumper. Grills to be carbon fiber finish. I think she is sexy!! Can't wait to see her in fresh paint!

Wow - that's a lot of effort you've put in there to make it an individual Z4  . Only one thing, with such an 'aggressive' look to it, it really is screaming out for a quad exhaust mod - that would finish the rear superbly, IMHO :) .
Looking forward to the finished result with paint - hats off to your project, have enjoyed following it so far.

So close. Waiting on mesh to finish front bumper and body mods will be done. She is scheduled to go to paint next week. Got her cleaned up today for a quick ride around town to check for clearance issues, rigidity of add ons etc. Stopped as usual to look back after her bath and decided it was a Kodak moment. Top down, fresh wash, begging to hit the open road. That's my girl.

It looks really good - there's something about the two-tone look that appeals, as it highlights the mods. When you paint, are you going for a colour change, or back to the standard colour?

Im looking at going with the original BMW titanium silver with black in the scheme you see on the car now. Weighing out how to paint the rear defuser. It came with a carbon fiber finish, which I intend to keep in the lower section where the exhaust exits. Looking at painting the top half black. Still trying to pin this down. Thoughts are to carbon fiber wrap the mirrors and rear spoiler. Also intend to wrap the dash panels and console in carbon fiber. I'm just enjoying doing the work and bringing the car to the next level.

Well the old paint is coming off and soon my baby will appear with a new look. I am like a kid at Christmas, on pins and needles awaiting the day. Wanted to post an update. Will post finished pics when she is done.

Well its been a few weeks since I last posted. The Z is at the paint shop still. Down to wet sanding and buffing the car out. My painter has had some personal problems holding him up and honestly I am about to lose it. Car should have been done a week ago but here I sit still waiting. He is a good friend and I have tried to cut him some slack. It will be done any day and I am excited. Have some goodies I ordered weeks ago that need to be added and I am ready to start my performance mods now. My hydraulic pump motor relocation will be the first item to take care of. Mine has been very weak and I am betting it's shot. So I scored a brand new motor for $244 through one of my Facebook groups. The guy had a few of them for sale , I'm sure he may still have a few left if anyone is in need of one. I simply could not pass on that deal. Got my carbon fiber grills and mirror covers. These will go good with the carbon fiber Splitter and rear defuser. Plan to wrap my rear spoiler as well. Looking at wraping my dash and center consol as well. Hope to find a place that does this dipping process and have my interior done. I am pleased with how she is coming together. I knew when I bought her I intended to do all this work to make her my own. Now she stands out in a crowd and I plan to spend some Saturdays at the local car meets showing her off. Posting some pics of the painting process and reveling the choice of color finally. Hope to have finished pics to post soon. Until then everyone have a lay "Z" day in the sun and enjoy your toy!! :driving:
